Butoh Workshop with Juju Alishina
Instructor | Ohjaaja: Juju Alishina
Venue | Paikka: Ylioppilasteatteri studio, Aleksanterinkatu 23
This two-hour workshop will focus on "KI," the foundation of Butoh technique and Noguchi gymnastics. We will explore how to move with "KI" by allowing it to flow through the body, and how to exchange and pass "KI" with others.
Juju Alishina offers a balanced and harmonious approach to Butoh movement in all its forms. Since 1982, she has developed a personal style that respects the body, drawing from her deep and varied research into Asian dance forms and her authentic experience of the danced body. Her method is accessible to everyone—from beginners to experienced dancers of all ages—and provides not only a creative approach to dance movement but also an introduction to the aesthetics and philosophy of Butoh as a means of expression and release.
Juju Alishina invites you to engage in work based on simulation and proactivity, encouraging you to think, imagine, invent, and create through at least a thousand hours of enriching learning. Artists, in particular, can find in this method material to develop their own framework for growth and consolidation in their discipline.
Very popular in Japan, the United States, and Europe, the Alishina Method has already brought together thousands of students.
